Extra Info...

Location:

This term classes are held in South Nutfield, Surrey (full address given once booked) . There is some free parking at the location, and free on road parking.

This class is 2hours long.

Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes beforehand to set up your equipment and get settled in. We start promptly at the times stated - we have lots to fit in!!

Content:

During the session we will cover how the machine works, and how to thread it up correctly. Basic stitches, playing with length, width, backwards stitching and steering. Basic seams and hems for use in general sewing. Finally we make a plastic bag tidy at the end of the session to put the skills you've just learnt to use in something 3D.

Fabrics:

Fabric for learning is included in the course cost, but you can bring your own fabric for your 3D project if you would like. You will need a 65cm (length) x 45cm (width) piece, we will provide the notions. We will be making a plastic bag tidy.

If you don't bring fabric we will have something from our stock for you to use free of charge, but there may not be a choice.

Sewing machines and equipment:

It is best if you bring your own machine so that you become competent on the one you use at home. Or you can hire one of ours if you don’t have your own (small surcharge per lesson). If your machine is brand new and you don't know how to work it at all - please let us know (this must be mentioned when booking). This is because we will need to check it works properly and have an alternative available if not. We will get you on to your machine as soon as possible. Please bring it with you. If it is brand new there should be no issues.

We will supply a list of the equipment you need in your welcome letter once booked.
